A Pair of Suspects Charged for Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder following the incarceration fatality of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences including the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
