Colts Battle Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Guten tag, fussball enthusiasts. Wie gehts? Everything good I trust on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming directly from Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Colts (7-2) take on the Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on soil in Germany and the initial in the capital city.

Pre-match Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A minor slip from Sky Sports there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

So, the Colts have won the toss and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?

Not to be outdone the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the national anthem of Germany. Classy.

First Quarter Gameplay

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

And we're off! And we have early drama after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right side then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the ball retrieval. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver fails to catch a fastball from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Touchdown Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That moment reflects the first round pick’s career to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets the running back up to roll in for the score on the next snap. The placekicker skews the extra point wide. Mistake.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a score of their own. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for the running back to run untouched into the end zone through the heart of the field for 13 yards. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

Other Week 10 Matchups

And for afters, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (home teams listed first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v New York Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Miami Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. My pick for the best game is the Vikings and Ravens playing out the game of the day.
