The First Game Pass Games of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing about PlayStation unprecedentedly. The past year represented an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company continues to plan to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "the perfect cocktail of horror and action."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they were due initially — which makes them perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
